Byakuren used to be human, so she's as close as it gets that we've seen recently, I believe.

Then again it's probably because of the lack of humans in SA that we got Sanae again in UFO. Byakuren would be a neat one to play, but I don't think she counts anymore.

Whenever it happens, it "doesn't count." Therefore, youkai/ghosts/gods/etc can be playable in any game and it will not infringe on this rule because it doesn't count. Life is good.

I'm leaning toward a new "trilogy" (a la EoSD, PCB, and IN) where he dumps pretty much all previous characters except Reimu and Marisa. TH13 will only have those two as playables with TH14 and TH15 being the continuations of TH13. Disregard if TH13 is another Phantasmagoria, but I'm leaning toward that being 12.7. Also, here's to hoping for a Phantasmagoria with Orin and Murasa as playables.

I'm getting the impression that the Touhou series as a whole is starting to take on more of an actual story-ish feel instead of just being a bunch of girls causing random overblown mischief. Starting with Mountain of Faith the stories seemed more connected to each other, the new one springing out from the closure of the old one.

For this reason I'd imagine it is highly likely that the backstory for TH13 will involve either Makai or post-UFO events surrounding Byakuren's group.

Seihou was simply a side project by Amusement Makers to practice on after the main Touhou series died off with them.

It's not Touhou Gaiden, it's just otherwise-idle hands being put to use. If you look it up, it is basically what was being made in the 4 years between MS and EoSD. This has nothing to do with storyline chronology; everything to do with the fact that they wanted to publish *something* during that time.

I would be okay with Sanae playable, also Sakuya would be nice too, as would Reisen even though she's not human. I would reeally like to see Mima and Yuka again, although I'm not expecting it.
I would really like to see Zun do remakes of Touhou 1-5 for Windows, but that will probably never happen.

Yeah, PC-98 --> Windows remakes are usually used by commercial studios to raise money for bigger projects. I don't check that stuff for two reasons: it's in Japanese and I can't read it, and I've come to think that ZUN is a somewhat unreliable fuck so I'm going by what the Comiket catalog says is gonna be there. I want Reimu with Satori and Remilia as selectable partners and Marisa with Flandre or Koishi as selectable partners. Sanae can just have her two Gods or maybe some people from the UFO crowd.

Also shooting style ideas.

The Reimu and Satori combo would result in options that read and follow the enemy, basically the homing style but with the options doing the moving instead of the amulets. Their bomb would be based upon the last boss they defeated so when fighting the second boss they'd have a spell from the first one and so and so. Could possibly have an unfocused bomb like plain old fantasy seal.

The Reimu and Remilia combo would basically be Persuasion Needle for the most part. Bomb could be Spear the Gungnir or Red the Nightless Castle.

Marisa and Flandre would be the Magic Missle Christmas Trees, but they would also have Christmas Lights which would basically be colorful explosive projectiles that shoot along with the Christmas Trees. Bomb could be a lot of things really with Flandre around.

Marisa and Koishi I would think as being the team that truly represents the power of love. I was thinking a homing laser with a heart tip similar to the plasma beam from Raiden but pink instead of purple. Bomb would be Master Spark superlove version. It would be pink and hearts would fly out of it.

Does anybody else have any shooting style ideas based off of teams they are hoping for in touhou?
