No one (assuming right handed) would use a submachine gun like that with a shield. The slide of the gun will bang against the shield when you try to shoot around it.

I've yet to be in a game other than in the first couple months of release where the AC130's weren't shot down within 20-30 seconds of showing up.

No seriously. Some ballistic shield even have an attach point on the back to hold a revolver. Because a semi-auto pistol will bang the shield when you try to shoot around it where as revolvers don't have any slides so they don't have that problem.

Absolutely. The Moon would be a pretty cool place to live. The Moon doesn't have an environment so you can carry out huge mining operations that would otherwise be too polluting for Earth. You don't even have to worry about killing poor rabbits that would otherwise be crushed by huge mining equipment, because there are no rabbits on the Moon.

Your Moon mining robots can also be incredibly huge because there's less gravity on the Moon.

Pic related, its NASA's proposal for a completely automated self-replicating lunar factory, so people living on the Moon can be NEETs.

Moon physics? What like the fact the Moon is a high vacuum environment and that it has less gravity so sniping is easier? Or the fact that there could be incredibly huge electrical arcing between dark and light parts of the Moon that might occur due to the photoelectric effect? Oh and the electrostatically charged lunar dust that gets on everything? Not to mention the exploding caves of radon gas that might exist?

Yes, you can have as city sized robot factories full of robot pals as you can fit on the Moon. But keep in mind that the control electronics have to be simple in order to prevent them from going haywire under the constant bombardment with space radiation.

No, because that would mean I'd have to socialize with the other soldiers plus, I'm a fat NEET otaku with poor awareness skills.
Better question: If the Lunarians asked you to participate in a biotechnological experiment that they were very much certain would successfully turn you into a kick-ass war machine touhou loli that doesn't age that will not only allow, but make it less practical for other soldiers to participate in your battles, would you honestly risk your life to do it, even with these powers?

You're too late, the proposal was already declined in the 1980s. Almost like NASA's entire space colony construction program got totally scrapped in 1977 after some senator went on television and said HURP DERP BUILDING SPACE COLONIES TO PROVIDE ALL OF EARTH'S POWER NEEDS WITH SPACE SOLAR POWER IS A DUMB IDEA. Or something to that effect. It's why NASA doesn't do big projects anymore.
