What's all this hate about higurashi characters in umineko?

If fiction theory is correct (almost certain now) then it can probably be applied to higurashi too. Bern is just the reader of Lambda's tale and her piece (the character she controls in the story) is Furude Rika and so on.

I don't know, I'd like to think Auau isn't Hanyuu OR Rika. I think Bern used to be Rika until Higurashi Rei, and Auau may or may not be from Higurashi, but I don't think she's Hanyuu. Maybe Ouka, after something horrible happened to her after killing Hanyuu, that ended with her becoming Featherine and holding a massive grudge, later meets Bern and decides to be monsters with her? Maybe she's just a completely new unrelated character made to troll us, that was pure evil back when she met Bernkastel, and decided to slowly turn Bern into an evil monster apprentice. Who knows.

what I'm trying to say is that magic doesn't exist and that Higurashi is a book as stated in EP1 and was written by a writer. This writer named X (Lambdadelta) while writing the story challenged reader X (Bern) to solve the mystery she had created. A third person X (probably Featherine) was told the truth about the mystery and acted as an impartial judge.

Note: Lambdadelta, Bernkastel and Featherine are pseudonyms.
