For most people that bar is their weak point, but in the higher difficulty games if you don't use that bar you'll never win.

What you really use is the savescum, though. You can't afford to have any of your wipeouts result in deaths.

I gave up on my first playthrough. Second time around I figured I'd invest everything I could into abusing the bar at the expense of all else. It's damned near retarded how much bar abuse pays off.

An easy place to start is with the abilities available to tacticians and ninjas. Ninjas can change the battlefield effect % in your favor during a battle (and they have the all-important interrupt ability), and tacticians can force the bar over too.

Everyone can get a passive ability that starts with the bar pushed in your favor just from participating in the battle.

Go after those types of traits and abilities every chance you get.
