hey /jp/, I don't follow idol master or general Japanese otaku culture. So I ask, why did the otaku hate the Idol master anime?

I loved Xenoglossia. It's one of the greates love stories I've seen in anime... between a girl and her giant robot.

Dunno what was the point of using Idolmaster characters for it, though. Sunrise could have just made their own original characters (or even recycled the Mai-HiME characters again) and we could have had the exact same show without butthurt fans whining.
