So I'm willing to try out a VN /jp/. Can you recommend one with a survival/escape theme? Preferably without sex, options to voices off, H scenes skippable if there, etc...
Also, any advice on how to play them? This would be the first I've played since Let's Meow Meow years ago.

Skippable/no sex scenes?

Read the SA review huh?

>survival/escape theme
Planetarian isn't a bad place to start. No voices, pretty short, and no sex.

Ever17 is pretty good too.

Save at every choice. Be prepared to read a lot.

Advice on how to read? The only advice you should need is the recommended order of which routes to pursue, and that often doesn't matter.

Don't even bother getting into VNs.

Planetarian, Ever17, Swan Song.

Cross Channel has some elements of this too with all the isolation, but it isn't really a straight survival/escape sort of deal.

Why play a VN when you can reinstall Deus Ex?
