Played Stepmania, mistook Marisa Stole the Precious Thing for a Higurashi Satoko fan video and took interest because of that. Also, saw a Phoenix Wright version of Make Us Your Bride, and got linked to the original. I loved the song Phantasmagoria Mystical Expectations, and together they piqued my curiosity about what it was, I searched Touhou on YouTube, and at the time the first result was gameplay video of Mokou fight, and I was very impressed with the game as well as her song, and downloaded it because of that.

So, SORT of IOSYS, but also sort of not.

Ironically, it turned out I downloaded the demo and for some reason the songs were horribly screwed up, so I ALMOST gave up on the series before I downloaded the full games for PCB and EoSD, and 1cc'd normal before I downloaded the actual IN.

Found out about Touhou because I was looking at shmups on wikipedia. Downloaded them, played them, and got into the games. I got into everything outside of the games because I kept going to the Touhou wiki to find out about everything that wasn't translated, especially scripts. As always happens on a wiki, one link led to another, so I eventually found myself growing more and more interested in Touhou outside of the shooters.
