Just started Wanko to Kurasou. This was after I finished Cross Channel, Ever17, Inganock and other sophisticated VNs. Holy shit, I don't care if this is considered "Disney shit", this is a nice and relaxing change of pace from the rest of the translated VNs.

Also, Seika is incredibly hot. I love precocious nymphets like her. Too bad she doesn't have a route like all the other best girls.

Also, I didn't expect Mikan to have such a deep and mature voice! She really sounds elegant, even if she is a dog.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this VN. I got it expected nothing but sex, given what I had heard about it beforehand.

But it's a great game to play when you've had a bad day. Relaxing!

Wanko is awesome. Simple slice of life setting. Simple yet interesting character development (the grinch's heart grew 5 sizes, etc.) Superb art and voice acting. There is even some good allegory going on in the story about the plight of "subhumans", whether it be the petgirls themselves, the younger daughter who can't compete, or the unmarried middle age woman. It is especially good if you notice the subtle bits and pieces, like the fact that almost all of the human girls have hairstyles resembling animal ears. It begs the question "what's the difference?"
But a lot of /jp/ doesn't like it because it isn't full of magic, explosions, nonsensical plot twists/holes that they can endlessly theorycraft on, and the main character isn't a sad sack of shit who gets abuse heaped on him.
It is always best to disregard 90% of the negativity on /jp/.
