I don't think anyone in /jp/ has the dedication to learn Japanese. Just try it out yourself and never give up.

I do. You only need to study 30 minutes to an hour a day.Though I haven't been doing it for long, and I'm not studying the writing yet.. I just started using a program called Live Mocha. I'll see how much I've learned after I finish all the lessons.

Try any or all of the following:

-Watch (and pay attention) to 100 or more anime series with subtitles, then watch 50 more without subtitles.
-Read 30 or more visual novels (translated, japanese voiced), then read 30 more untranslated ones.
-Live in Japan for two years or more.

Brb, moving to Japan. You can't just move to Japan. That's way too much.

>> No.5503020

That's why I offered it as one of the possible ways, and not -the only- possible way.

You could also go with boring textbook-and-classroom method. But that's way too boring for most people.

But for people here (who presumably enjoy anime and/or VNs to some extent), spamming anime and VNs (as long as you pay attention to the Japanese), can get you there while still being less likely to get bored of learning the language.

Heisig+Eroge with a dictionary for 5-15+ hours a week over a couple of years and an episode or two anime every other day did it for me. No vocab or grammar grinding.
