Can someone explain why Marisa and Reimu aren't considered top tier fighters? They defeat everyone and in the manga they are always looked down on

In effect, they ARE top tier fighters in the same sense of a boxer or other martial artist is. However take away the formal set up of the battle and they are screwed. You don't send Hulk Hogan to fight wars you know.

I mean, think of Yukari during PCB's phantasm stage. Yukari's Arcanum "Danmaku Bounded Field", you can only win that spell card because it's a game. According to the rules the use of impossible danmaku is a foul and the user loses the match, outside of a danmaku match Yukari doesn't have to give you a tiny space to move within.

Apparently the Hakurei shrine maidens are some of the best youkai exterminators if Kourin's words are to be believed. Reimu however, is very lazy and it takes some sort of strong push to actually make her train. Hell, it wasn't until SSiB that she finally was able to call upon the gods after being forced by Yukari.

Supreme Master-Arts by any means. With Reimu's ability to float, she floats from everything in reality and becomes invincible.

If it wasn't just for play (with time limit), no one could beat her with any method.
