When you count it, her body is actually about 6 heads long, which is the normal size. I think the reason it looks so small is that her body, especially shoulders and hips, is extremely narrow, which makes the body look longer and noodlier than it should.

Uh oh, it actually does. In anime, the sizes are 5-7 heads (5 for young teen or short person, 6 for normal, 7 for tall or man) and for realistic drawing, they're 6-8 (6-7 for normal, 8 for tall man). When it comes to bodies, animu anatomy - at least when well drawn - is actually rather close to realistic proportions, or more so than the general public thinks, anyway.
