5455255 No.5455255 [Reply] [Original]

Dear /jp/sies, I come from the distant and troll-infested lands of /mu/ with a most humble request:

Over the past few days I've downloaded a few albums with arrangements of Touhou music, mostly of the metal kind (UI-70, Dementori, =Neutral=, crow'sclaw) and some acounstic/folk (Diverse System). I'm absolutely enraptured with them, most of the metal arrangements are far superior to today's power metal drivel. And I crave more, not just metal arrangements but also bombastic orchestral/piano arrangements, I know they exist but I have no idea which circles/albums to look out for. I also plan to download the original soundtracks since I want to know what the vanilla tunes sound like, do they come in midi format?

Thanks in advance, a /mu/tant

I expected those sages to be honest, I should have added that I already know the spreadsheet >>5455268 posted, it's where I got what little music I have. It's just that mediafire is excruciatingly slow on my end, quite frankly I don't want to waste time downloading stuff that does not appeal to me: Hence why I came here, looking for help.

Don't take offense, /jp/ has a sage fetish. They're trying to use it in its original intent, but for some reason they still use it when they're bumping with relevant information. Sage was supposed to be sort of a way to say stuff like "thanks" or "lol"--pointless comments not worth bumping the thread for.

Sage is almost never meant offensively on /jp/ though, and we usually make fun of people who treat it like an insult.

Side note, you mind telling me which touhou metal you liked so much?

Thank you for your help, I love gregorian chant quite a bit.

>> No.5455311

put in touhou then 6-12 in youtube to listen to the original songs. after that you should know the name and finding them with be easy

for example put in touhou 6 soundtrack

>> No.5455315

The sages aren't meant as an offense, it's just a way to avoid bumping a thread with irrelevant or in this case one-line answers.

The Touhou Violin albums are kind of orchestrated with piano and such, but there are probably better circles doing that sort of thing that I don't know of.

'sage fetish'? Hardly. There's no need to bump a topic if you think your reply doesn't warrant a bump (or the subject matter).

>> No.5455319

Try these circles

IRON ATTACK/CHINO
Unlucky Morpheus
Blankfield
Discord Register
Driving Kitchen

However, I don't know if those will suit your taste or not.

Try Wave "Archiv East" album, Gensou Roku album by TENMON, maybe some stuff like Kitsune's Workshop. Also: O-Life, Re:Volte, Swing Holic. As for metal: MyonMyon, Kissing the Mirror, Foreground Eclipse, Iron Attack, the joint album "Barrage am Ring 0"

As for MF, install DownThemAll addon to firefox, it will let you download much faster from MF, 3-4 files at once. If you like batches, grab Touhou Lossy torrent from nyaatorrents, and choose folders with circles you like.

dbu is the best circle

I figured as much, I've been lurking /jp/ for well over two months now, it's a nice change from summer /mu/.

My favorite Touhou metal project would be UI-70, they have a great blend of the upbeat, semi-symphonic power metal that seems to dominate the Touhou doujin music scene and some heavier tunes reminiscent of stoner doom and jam rock.

/jp/ uses sage overwhelmingly more than other boards, and using sage on threads you don't like (rather than just not replying) is the origin of /b/ level sage use and the origin of its status as an insult.
Sage's original use was only if you thought your reply didn't merit a bump, and I can hardly see how the answer to the OP's question wouldn't merit one.
I'm using sage now because this reply has nothing to do with the thread topic or the OP.

>> No.5455393

/jp/ uses sage so much because the people here hardly think what they say is of any worth

/jp/ uses sage for pretty much the same reason as people on other boards - because they don't want to bump a thread (either because they don't like it, or because they feel they are answering the question and want OP to go away afterwards). They just use the excuse that they are "using it in its intended manner" so they can feel superior to other boards for no real reason.

sage because I don't want this thread bumped.
Also, tons of arguing would be solved if sage just didn't show up, like noko doesn't

I forgot about one album in particular- "Touhou Violin rock II" by TAMUSIC. Part I is not that great but II is a solid mass of awesome energy.

Also, sage is just kind of the default way of posting on 2ch and much of futaba. It's always a bit irritating for me when I accidentally sage a reply on a western chan and then get asked why I sage them.

You definitely need to get Sonic Hybrid Orchestra, their Nuclear Fusion is wonderful, among all their other songs, of course. Also, try the AKAMETAL compilation, some pretty cool songs there, an artist called Bach, only heard a song, but it's pretty cool, and, for classic, might like TAMUSIC and project-delta.

You can actually "noko+sage". It's pretty useful for saging without the risk of it being misinterpreted as a stamp of disapproval.

Also, piano arranges? I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Everfades's Reverie, or those two epic medleys by Shiraha. I'm also liking でんしほたる's piano stuff, which I've started listening to lately.
