How many of you play touhou, or other /jp/ related games on GNU/Linux OSes?

You son of a bitch.. We don't have a burger King in our town and I am hungry.. I hope Yuyuko eats you to death.

>> No.5445168

Exactly 58 /jp/ visitors do that.

I do.

I can play hisoutensoku with the new ATI 10.5 drivers. Also all other games run fine.

Lucky bastard. NVIDIA hasn't fixed their problem yet. What's ATI like for you? And are you using the proprietary blob, or the open source one?

ATI does official linux drivers now?

They have for a little while. But all the things I've heard about ATI and Linux, are not good. The PC I'm looking at has an ATI card though, so I want to know.

Playing Princess Maker 2 in Dosbox for GNU+Linux right now. Works fine.

I'm using the proprietary blob. I expected more problems but everything works really smooth. Have bought a cheap 4890HD.

>> No.5445336

i have no need for linux as a main os at present.
pirating windows and the antivirus software is easy enough not justify migration.

Last questions I hope. What distro are you running, and how well does Hissy play. There were other problems with it last I checked.

But the support keeps improving at least.

Archlinux using the the Catalyst repository.

Take a look here even if you use another distro.
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI_Catalyst

The game never crashed but I played only for ~two hours. Only bug I found: you can't see Sanae's red star attack. (like with the nvidia drivers)
Never tried a network game.

You can ask more questions if you want, but my english isn't the best.

>> No.5445463

>>5445406
Well thanks. And yes, the invisible projectiles issue also occured when I was running it in VirtualBox. Oh well, I still have the other games working lovely.

By the way, your English is fine. I'm not sure what you're worried about!

Sure, not the best. Pretty damn close, though.

Better than those of 99% of /jp/ers, that's for sure.

Virtualbox own directx hack also works. I tried that with Imperishable Night and some other small directx based games.

VirtualBox should be unnecessary for the shooting games, except maybe PoFV. I haven't tried that in a while but it liked freezing between stages. Quite annoying.

Go back to wherever you came from. Take the source in the filename as a parting gift.

>> No.5447537

I play all my Touhou games on Linux.
Most VNs run fine in wine too but for some I need VirtualBox.
