It's not all that deep and thought out but, they do have a personality. Well, some do. You can't really tell Nitori's personality, but she's a generic kappa that wants to keep the peace with humans, that why she tells reimu or marisa to go back. But then again, why take anything that White Ren#chilly says seriously?
