I just started enjoying Japanese culture about 7 months ago and today I went to my first ever Anime convention (Here in NJ) and it was absolutely amazing!!!!

There were tons of people dressed up, with lots of things to buy, watch and events to participate in! Sense I only know a couple of anime's and manga's here and there, I was quite happy when I recognized what people were dressed as. People were just happy and seemed to be having a good time!

Is every convention this great, or could it have been "it's my first time" excitement? And I'm going to college this fall, so is it possible to maybe find time to attend more during school time or should I wait for vacations?

Also, I plan to attend the same one next year during summer break, but dress up this time. Do you guys recommend anything simple I could possibly make? I have very limited sewing experience but I can work on that. I was thinking maybe a Team Magma costume.
