Why is Sanae portrayed as a wimp or "innocent" compared to Reimu and Marisa? If anything, in the games she's more of a bitch than both of them AND she's smug about it because she's the descendant of a god.

Where's it show that she's smug or bitchy? I hate her to death since she's replacing mai meido, but I can honestly say she's genuinely a good person, and good people will always be smacked around by the assholes of Gensokyo (ex. China, Alice, Keine, Byakuren)
