Hello,
Your blog at http://meilinganddamagedesuscanlations.blogspot.com/ has been reviewed and confirmed as in violation of our Terms of Service for: SPAM. In accordance to these terms, we've removed the blog and the URL is no longer accessible.

Damn you Blogger. Does anyone know a hosting service that doesn't pull that kind of stuff?

Also Wordpress seems to be commonly used by H-manga translators.

Do they at least have your previous entries backed up and such? Are you going to re-dump all your old entries on your new blog when you move?

>> No.5373841

Out of the 37 translation blogs that I have in my feed reader, 12 are on Blogspot, 10 are on Wordpress, and the others are on their own site or a friend's. (Like Zetsurin's blog piggybacking on RyuuTama's domain).

I should at least relink the releases, but all the daily doujin content will be lost forever. I simply don't remember all of these 47 by heart.

That sucks. Haven't been following it, but what kind of services do you need? And how much space? (I have some space on a private server)

Also, yeah, if you care for not having to repost the new URL, do register your own domain name, at least...

>> No.5373885

Where's the resident Sysadmin of Gensokyo? I'm sure he's got more than enough server to go around for dojins.

>> No.5373919

>>5373867
Well most of the files on the blog were hosted on either mediafire or hotfile, and then there's also the blog itself and the traffic it generates. In summary I have no idea how much space I would need. Anyway I will try to get the blog back up as soon possible. The worst part of it all is picking the new hosting service for it.

Probably not a problem, then. I can spare about 2-3Gb of space and some 80Gb or so traffic per month. If you just want a blog, Wordpress would probably be a bit slow, but I can find something lighter (standard LAMP setup here). Drop me a line if you're interested - (nickname) at vps.k-link.net.

But yeah, reliable free blog hosting doesn't really exist (especially for even remotely questionable content). Paying a few bucks for actual php/mysql hosting and running a blog engine off that is your best bet. (Or just move to TLwiki/Baka-Tsuki/whatever...)

>Blogger's spam-prevention robots have detected that your blog has characteristics of a spam blog. (What's a spam blog?) Since you're an actual person reading this, your blog is probably not a spam blog. Automated spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and we sincerely apologize for this false positive.

>We received your unlock request on June 14, 2010. On behalf of the robots, we apologize for locking your non-spam blog. Please be patient while we take a look at your blog and verify that it is not spam.

There's a chance it may still be restored. I'll wait for their official answer before doing anything else.

This is why Google has a LONG fucking way to go. The lack of a human contact for when shit like this happens is pure fail. 100% Google's fault. 100% Google's failure.

When you get it back, at least make backup copies of what you have up on there in case these things happen again. I thought everyone on /jp/ would've had enough experience with this kind of stuff to always keep backups by now, but I guess not.

This isn't 2001 any more but I'm sure quite a few people have some space and bw on a server that they've never used except to host their personal website that has their email address which they never check, which gets 4 hits a year.
