Not-sports, not-cheap/gimmicky (think Natal or iPhone games) and not-sandbox (unless it has some sort of quirk, like being set during the Crusades or having super-powers or something. Basically, not-GTA). I'm sure there's other stuff as well, I wouldn't play a 50 Cent game, for example, but that's just a broad view. I try to give most things a fair chance.

In the case of RTS, I just don't like being rushed to build up bases, or gather resources or whatnot. I'm also not that great at designing effective bases, usually. As far as music games go, most of them don't have any songs I'd like, and I don't want to buy tons of plastic instruments that I have no space for, especially since I have no one to play with.

I enjoy sci-fi games of any genre, be it FPS or RTS. I just love how much you can build a story in a science fiction setting since their are no limits to what you can really imagine. I enjoy a lot of space opera novels and hard sci-fi for this reason too.

I also play generic, commercial FPS games like Bioshock or F.E.A.R. or STALKER etc. I don't play too many multiplayer shooters though (used to be into TF2).

I also love strategy games that deal with history like Age of Empires, Civilization, Ceaser, and Empire Earth.

And of course VNs and touhou games, as well as obscure Japanese shit on old consoles.

Well, I did play it online some, but no one ever invaded my games. I don't know if's because I had the Asian version and I'm living in the US, so most people who owned it might not've played during my hours. I did see lots of messages from people on the ground and such.
