I've been in Japan for almost 6 months and I haven't encountered any signs of xenophobia from them.

My father went to university in Tokyo and got his chemical engineering degree there. I would ask him how he was treated there if he wasn't dead. But I did see an old picture with him and a couple other Japanese people eating out and they were all smiling so it mustn't have been that bad.
