I did like your grazing but i guess its just the get up mashing you need to work on. I'm not sure if im the best to give any advice since im scrub compare to most of /jp/ players but go defensive. which one? the one where she charges up with a narrow line and then shoots straight across the screen? try dial A and make them bounce off the wall to give you enough time to catch them on the rebound, or do a 6A ass check to bounce them.
Guard breaking apperently isn't enough time, so your best chance is wall bouncing, and that is if they don't recover in time. The risk factor is said not to be worth it since you can end up wasting your entire hand, but trust me if feels awesome. Like you're really a little witch girl.

Thing is, even the newest players have looked at the wiki before going online. Just learn one or two ground and air combos (five minutes max), and block a lot and you'll be fine.

Holding on to cards is a good idea since you take more damage if you have more health. Don't want to waste your cards, still lose the round, and go to round 3 with no ammo.
You practice the combos so you can do them automatically without thinking. You really only need one or two basic 'bread and butter' combos. The fancy stuff you can really make up on the fly.
Also, some chars are easier than others. You won't be doing anything with Aya if you don't know tons of combos, for example.

You aren't able to air recover from Yukaris 66c so when you hit the ground, the train will be waiting for you to get up. Go test it on practice mode with the computer that is constantly high jumping and air teching. If you can't set that up go kill yourself.

If you spam it once you have your train card highlighted it won't work, sure but 66C grazes, is not airblockable, has huge range, it's fast for its range and not punishable if you use it as a poke. With all that you have a move that you can sneak in once in a while and if it hits, you get a free 3000-6000 damage.

Iku is a funky character. Her j.2A has frighteningly long range, however, so you have to constantly be on the lookout for that. I was often able to catch you with it after grazing around. Besides that, she's simply strong so there's not much I can offer.

Best advice is to let it space out, then get inside of it. If it's done in the corners, tech roll to mid field and wait it out in the other corner. If it's done mid screen, well, this is a Touhou game. Get in a corner, wait for a space, and get inside. It's not hard to escape, just don't jump in to early or attempt to block it. You will get fucked up!

But it's nothing like trying to escape Sanae's Lv5. THAT one, you just need to sit there and die; in all seriousness, it's the best option.

When you are under a press on the corner, it's safer to escape using a high jump than trying to poke with normals or non-reversal specials. You can also use the scarf system card, it's very effective and not really risky unless your opponent makes lots of efforts to bait it.

Also, with Meilin, you can always try something like j6A j6C after you hit in the air with a jA. It's pretty safe if you do it on block, and on hit it may combo depending on the distance.

Hahaha, if only. You have no idea how badly I was screwing up my inputs there. A lot of special inputs were just plain dropped, and I would randomly press the entirely wrong buttons for what I wanted to achieve, because I forgot where the buttons were (best example: random Komachi 2c in the corner). I do have gotten notably better about pressing the buttons since starting, though.
