Would probably be a great game mechanics-wise if done right, but...

-The empire has been out for over a century.
-The Turanic raiders got assimilated into the Vaygr.
-The Beast is dead.
-Makaan is dead.
-The Bentus blew up and the other Bentusi have long left.
-The Progenitors are extinct.
-The Kadeshi are pretty much militant hikkis and never go outdoors.
-The cores are united, the eye has been opened, the Hiigarans are pretty much the dominant force in the galaxy.
-Karan Sjet is basically god.

The only loose ends left are pretty much a) the species that built the brainwashing derelict from HW1 or b) the Frerrn Aggregate, who only show up in one sentence of the Cataclysm manual.

It'll be a masterpiece if they work out something believeable with this little left to go with.

I never got any further than partway through Homeworld 1 because I lost like 80% of my fleet in that asteroid field stage and gave up after getting wiped on the next mission ;_;
