Problem with these fully translated/non-edited patches is that as more people play them, the staff working on these projects will lose incentive to finish them and they'll all end up like the Clannad project.

You could try the same thing that worked in Symphonic Rain.
Remove the patch file, load the game and play past that screen, save, move the patch file in again and you're done.

if its like symphonic rain, what worked for me was changing the directory file to administrative. I'm running vista and nothing worked until i did that. Right click, go to properties, security and choose administrators. Not sure if it'll work with this game but try it.
