Alright /jp/, I know this question is more suited for /v/, but they're full of too much fanboys, trolls, and general faggotry to get a decent answer. So I ask you, which console is the best choice for weeaboos? Keep in mind the 360 has been getting a surprising amount of Japanese exclusives while the PS3 has been getting a surprising amount of... nothing.
My last system was a PS2 which had excellent Japanese support, but at this point I honestly don't know where to go.

PS3 for Valkyria Chronicles alone. 360 is failing hard in Japan so chances are the PS3 will become the weeaboo console of choice. There is of course the Wii but...yeah...it's a Wii.

PS3 will have MGS4, FF13 and its spinoffs, Disgaea 3, and can play all the multiplatform titles, all in HD. I've bought all this generation's systems and so far my 360 had rrod'd on me, I don't even touch my wii anymore (I can't find any good new games), and I'm now playing P3FES on my ps3 and I might pick up GTA4 when it comes out. PS3 is by far the best console imo.

Truth be told, even after all they took out of the PS3 when they dropped the price, it's got twice the internal memory, slightly better graphics, and the online is free. Plus that blue-ray is about to become the standard, leaving the 360's high def high and dry, and since they're fixing up the controllers so that they don't suck so badly, I think Sony may have the better system on hand. That still doesn't excuse them for the original pricetag, taking out all the stuff in exchange for lowering the pricetag, and that you can only really appreciate the graphics with a high def tv, but as long as they keep a good game library on hand they may get the upper hand over microsoft, and maybe if the novelty of the Wii runs out they'll get past them too. Not gonna be anytime soon though.

Well it's not one of those games where you eventually end up with one super strong character that goes-about one-shotting everyone.
Your characters level up as a whole based on unit type, but even then leveling doesn't seem to make a dramatic difference on their performance.
So to win the stage you'll need REAL strategies.

A real weaboo would want to avoid both for now. PS2 is still the weaboo's console of choice, and probably will be for some time. The only Weaboo game you'll be missing thats actually good is Eternal Sonata. Blue Dragon is shit, Lost Odyssey is shit, Final Fantasy started being shit since 10 (just look at 11 and 12), and Disgaea 3 is just the same shit with a new number on the end - they didn't even improve the graphics that much. Also, Persona 4 will be on PS2, and if you havn't played the other SMT games then that should keep you satisfied for a long while.

So yeah, just stick with a modded PS2 for now. Although if you have to get a console, get a 360 - Eternal Sonata and Ace Combat 6 alone make it worth it, and if you get it modded, you'll be able to play the Idolm@ster. Oh, and Ace Combat 6 has games with the Idolm@ster girls on them for download on 360.

the currently available 40GB ps3 cannot play ps and ps2 games. the 80GB version can.

the ps3 has 256MB rambus RAM available for video. Rambus is slow as fuck.

google the ps3vsX360 benchmark comparisons for two seconds and you'll see the X360's video processing is superior.

Even still, a ps2 should be the priority console. it doesn't suck, not by a long shot. i bought one the day the ps3 came out and it's practically perfect in every way. and it's still selling ~200,000 units a month. remember around christmastime, when it was outselling the ps3?
