I like what they're trying to do more than danbooru, but danbooru is more successful at it. gelbooru doesn't transfer tags as well from danbooru, along with other metadata, even if there was a bot uploading images from one site to the other, so I still end up using danbooru and a few scripts to bypass the site's limitations.
