When they build stories like this, they really lose plot points for actually making the sufficiently anthropomorphic animals so sufficiently anthropomorphic they could just hide their extra bits and pass as human. More focus should be placed on the biological or basic psychological incompatibility.

It's also feels rather wrong to have what amounts to slavery and oppression of other sentient beings - and then have the main character defend this as the natural order of things.

On the plus side, the main character is possibly more of a violent tsundere than Rance.
