In practice Toho plays exactly like a arcade shooter would, though i doubt if the popularity would be all that it is today if it were introduced as an arcade box. Most likely it wouldve gone down in history and forgotten as the mediocre bullet hell that it is.

There are no 2d-shmup arcades in my country ;_; Only 3d shit like "The House of The Dead", "Crisis Time" etc. Heck, I can't even find any fighting game arcades besides Tekken 6. This is really sad...

Touhou would probably be a lot better on arcade. You can't get away with giving like a million lives/wordswordswords interrupting gameplay/barely testing games when you're on an arcade.

Scoring would still be shit though.
