As the most powerful youkai, Yukari has gotten bored of always being on top. She holds Gensokyo in the palm of her hand, but this all a cover for what she is really like.

When All the other touhous are gone, and it's just Ran and Yukari in the house, Yukari acts out her fantasies of being a helpless, diapered youkai. The diaper, pacifier, and rattle all bring her back to the times before everyone feared her, when she had no responsibilities and only lived for being loved and taken care of. This is the true reason such a powerful youkai needs a servant like Ran. She doesn't actually need her to fix the border, she just needs her to provide the love and warm bottles and diaper changes that Yukari's true self yearns for after being hated and feared by everyone else for her power.

Gensokyo's most feared monster, is actually it's biggest baby.
