So I moronically watched the Demonbane anime instead of reading the VN. It definitely didn't do a good job of developing the characters, everything felt rushed and compressed, the animation was shit, and a lot of the story felt very omitted.

I've got one thing on my mind that maybe someone who is more familiar with the VN might be able to expand upon:

Paper cuts.

I watched Demonbane and despised it for turning the fantastic horror that is Lovecraft into generic anime shit.

Does the visual novel do a drastically better job at being Lovecraftian, instead of just tossing a reference here and there like the anime did?

I agree, Elsa is far the best of the cast from what I've read so far (~7 chapters) but, FUCKING NO ROUTE DSFHSDFHASDGF.

Dr. West and Elsa were by far the only enjoyable parts of the anime.

I'd say the main girl was the cutest though, even if she had crap character development. I'm hoping the VN does it different.
