I'd rate myself as pretty shit at STGs on the whole, but with Touhou I usually do okay. I can 1CC most of the games on normal. But these camera games are the death of me.

Well Shoot the Bullet and Double Spoiler are pretty hard, but if you do Normal mode, you shouldn't be having problems so early. And, if you are, there's not much hope for the later levels. Some of those are hell.

I think it's the combination of being unable to bomb (reliably, in DS I can only bomb in about one-twentieth of the situations where I need to because I have to charge it up) and having to close up to the boss in order to take a shot, or else stop dodging for a moment in order to aim from a distance.

I'm probably missing something here. I know about rapid-charging the camera but that was only useful in the first few levels where I wasn't being shot at constantly.
