Is it me or the g keyboards are actually subpar as far as keyboarding go? It seems like they take forever to register a keyReleased event. It's nigh impossible for me to reliably execute skills in a timely fashion without the programmable keys

I've been using a first edition G15 for a few years now, I have no complaints about it. I tried out using the programmable keys for special inputs in SWR, but found out soon that it's easier, faster and more reliable to input them normally than to shift my hands for every different move.

They're very useful for practise mode though, since I can program my opponent to do stuff that way. Perfect for trying out reversals and such.

A good stick in general will do. Personal recommendation: the Madcatz Street Fighter IV Arcade Fightstick Tournament Edition. It's a plain good stick in general, and works with either the PC and either Xbox 360 or PS3, depending on which one you get. It costs a notch, though. There's also the SSFIV edition, but it's basically the same stick except more costly.

I've been trying to map out 623 on my Street Fighter TE stick to a single button, but dunno how the hell I can do this. Joy2key doesn't have the functionality for that, right? I'd use Xpadder, but for some reason it won't let me edit buttons while in advance. Xpadder doesn't even read my keystrokes while I'm in advance mode, even though it does recognize my keyboard is there.

Anyway, anyone have any idea of how I can go about doing this? I also tried mapping it out on my keyboard (Razer Arctosa) but it doesn't seem to work when I try using my mapped button in game.

Most of the time I lose because I can never get out the move I really need in a pinch. I suck at 623 and 421 movements. I practice getting them out all the time, but when I get online I can never get them out in the middle of my combos or for mixup.

Funny thing is, I can get them out perfectly if I'm playing Blazblue or Street Fighter on my console, but the movement just isn't as fluid with Touhou. That's kinda what made me pissed enough to use the one button assignment crap. If I need a fast move to come out, last thing I want is a move with slow recovery time to come out (read - ALMOST EVERY 623C MOVE).

That means that you're ending the motion at 2 instead of 3. Remember to end the move with the stick in the corner of the gate, at least until you can do it consistently. Try going into a game that lets you see your inputs in practice mode and make sure you're doing your 623s correctly without any extra inputs.

lol please dont listen to what that guy just said. if you try and spam bullets wit hyoumu you will be granted with quick and painful death. Youmu is a melee character, the only one in teh game other then Meiling/China. but youmu is more efficient at it; you chase with youmu, use her speed to you advantage to keep your enemy off balence, and try and keep them on the ground so you can start a combo and finish it up with a skill or something like that. or you can lay low and use her weaker yet very fast spell cards to strike for alot of damage at one time after your ENEMY has finished a combo.

i can talk about all the ways you can fight with youmu(my main character XD), but the best way to decide how yo uwant to use her isn't by asking, but by using her and practicing. but no matter how you use her, know that youmu is NOT a spam character. no character is, even if its alittle more effective with certain characters ^^

GGs, E-Man. You didn't have to go so easy on my randomed Suwako. Hate her with a passion, so I'm perfectly fine with getting a fast beat down in the name of moving on to the next match, though unfortunately that was the last one. God damn I hate when the right cards don't come as Reimu... I just can't see how to play her without Youkai Buster. Without it she has basically no combos outside of corner. It's terribly annoying. Though not quite as annoying as misjudging the spirit regen rate of a downed opponent, going for meaty Giga Flare, and doing 0 damage as a result. Or whiffing Scarlet Weather Rhapsody God knows how many times. It's all in good fun though, had a blast.

Your Patchy spellcard combos make me cry. Not because they hurt, but because I think of all those cards wasted on piddly little amounts of damage...

LOL, I should've figured you wanted to end the Suwako match quickly. If only you would've busted a j.6A6B6C, I would've stopped playing around. I don't study much of what does what limit with Patchi, so if I know I'm going for the kill, I'll just to a scrub-simply Gears combo. It's a dangerous thing to hit limit before Patchi drops the gears, and doing it off of the Dial A assures that if I don't get the kill, I can at least safely escape or block against bullshit instant wakeup-A characters (i.e. Okuu, Remi). The Serene combo knocked off 3.5k, though.

The only time I use Meirin's default 22 is for finishing combos before picking up the SDK skill card.

Of course, it's still useless since 5AAA 2B etc. combos deal more damage than 5AAAA 22B, but at least the latter has guaranteed knockdown and is easier to perform so I stick with it.
