that's only if you leave the toilet open when flushing. Closing the lid keeps the shit from flying though the air. Also, even if it is open, the shit aerosol doesn't travel much more than 6 feet.

The grossest thing ever is pondering what actually is happening when you smell shit vapors.

The essence of shit is essentially microscopic little pieces of shit floating through the air. Your sense of smell is controlled via your olfactory bulb, which is a little part of your brain that sticks down into your nasal cavity. When things land on it, it identifies them as various smells. Get a whiff of shit, and those little floaty particles of shit are actually landing on your brain.

TL;DR when you smell a big nasty shit, feces have actually touched your brain.
