/jp/, for how long would you say you've enjoyed Touhou, VNs, and other Japanese media, and how did it all start?
Do you think it's something you'll abandon as you get older?

For me, it's been about 12 years. When I was 5, my parents bought my sister Sailor Moon VHSs, and I would always watch them when she was away. Around when I was 7, I started using the internet on a daily basis looking around for anime pictures, trying to draw them and such.
It's probably something I won't ever give up. I'll wish to be the little girl up until my grave.

Started with anime when I was about 6? Well, that's when I started Japanese anime with subs anyway. Had to pause the VHS tapes a lot because I couldn't read fast enough. The Japanese store near my house used to sell lots of anime VHS tapes with shitty subs (some I think they did their selves).

When I was younger I remember my mother telling me about how much she loved catroons and never thought she'd get over them. She told me I'd be the same way. 23 years old and still into animation, never got into live action stuff aside from movies.

probably when i was 9.
i suddently wanted a pokemon game. so my parents bought me a pokemon yellow.
i remember when i accidentally released my pikachu and didin't realised that i did. ;_;

You ever get subtitles that cursed in every other line? Dragonball Z and Fist of the North star had subs like this when I was a kid.

Man, I thought that shit was so cool when I was that age and compared it to the English version. "Goku doesn't say that in the Japanese version!"
