Typically the VN is not actually boring at that point (it's incredibly rare for VNs to honestly change around that much - so if it's boring I wouldn't be reading it in the first place); instead, it's just that I'm not in the mood for that sort of thing at the moment.

Like any story, there are some moments where the action, sex, or drama lags but in general I'm not particularly bored by VNs. I almost always skip male vocal monologue but I usually listen to the girls speak.

And this is why I hate a lot of the groups out there. They don't last and they just shut down. Going underground and then coming out of no where is the best, but then I think everyone would be worried they're all translating the same game if the go underground without saying what they're working on.

Asukimi has a good common route that builds up the story and characters.

Flyable Heart's common isn't as good, but there are a lot of hilarious moments. Characters play off each other really well.

In both games, we see the storyline start diverging before the 'common' route officially ends.

Ever since I first started getting into video games, I've been an insane completist. I just cannot put a title down until I've done everything that can possibly be done in it. There are some ooolld games that I'm STILL not done with because I have a side quest or whatever shit remaining - still haven't gotten Tidus's ultimate weapon in FFX or unlocked those last Aruruw CGs in Utawarerumono. Feel free to laugh now.

Hence not only do I read everything in the game as I go along, I play through it until I've made every choice and uncovered every possible bit of text that I can. Obsessive? Perhaps, but I feel it contributes to my enjoyment of a game. It sure as hell raises replay value, too.

This is why I love games that have a completion percentage reader in them somewhere, like Remember11 and Caucasus. It's also one of the two big reasons why I don't do MMORPGs - it's impossible to ever do and see everything. Other reason is the massive time commitment.
