hey, /jp/.

Assuming I wanted to read Umineko no Naku Koro Ni Chiru - Episode 6: Dawn of the Golden Witch, but don't understand a lick of japanese, what would my options be?

If I recall correctly, there exists an on-the-fly translator that'd give me a passable translation of babelfish/Google Translate quality, but what was it called again?

>> No.5086928

I dont think that'd be such a good idea for something like Umineko.

>> No.5086926

Read it in original Japanese and just make up what's happening based on the expressions and sound effects.

>> No.5086930

AGTH and ATLAS, but it would be so bad you'd be better waiting.

>> No.5086931

Be patient and wait.

ATLAS.

This is a dictionary for ATLAS with names and all inputed already.
Just download AGTH+ATLAS v14+ATLAS crack, find a guide to use them and you're good.

Apart from some awkward expressions like 'older sister is a vagina', it works normal.

understand: this is what a machine translation looks like.

There are better examples, and you still can understand what it means.

This.
Be prepared to grasp the bits of sense from soundtrack.

>he hasn't input -sama
That translation is to be expected-

The question isn't how many sentences are understandable, the question is how many are not. It only takes 5% gibberish to make the clear 95% meaningless.

That and "my sister is a clitoris"

The elder sister is a George?

...Wow, it all makes so much sense now.

>>5086965
Please elaborate on that last part, because I'm completely lost as to what the original meaning might've been, or could've been.

>> No.5086991

>>5086979
If you don't even bother to try to understand it, add words and all, then it's normal.
I played with it and the most complicated things can be understood well.

>passable translation
Nope.

Only recently though.

Machine translation is a viable option for something like a porn game where you don't give a shit about the plot in the first place and half of it is OOOH AHHH YOU'RE TEARING ME APART anyway. For something like Umineko, either learn Japanese or wait for a real translation.

>> No.5087058

Just wait honestly. From what Chronotrig's been saying, translations are a lot higher than 6%, but it sure as hell won't come out before the next comiket considering their pace

>> No.5087094

If it is not out before the 7th episodes, you can always wait more. Its not like the game is going to run away from you.

>> No.5087110

Except the main reason everyone likes it is discussions, and there's good chance for an answer in ep7.

>> No.5087143

>>5087110
I don't like, read, or participate in the discussions for the most part. I don't mind them either but it's not exactly a draw point for me.

>> No.5087148

You can discuss when the translation is out, with the people that don't speak moonspeak.

The next day the final answer episode will come out you will be spoiled about it in /jp/.
