That belongs to /a/.

Let's not.

Reported.

Nope, some translator translated summaries and good fragments during /a/ threads.

>> No.5009862

So, how is the light novel series? I really enjoy the show, and might want to check out the novels when it's done, since 1/3 of the show is over already.

Light novels are /jp/ related, so why the hell would you report this thread?

Why is there almost no fanart of purple? This angers and confuses me.

Light novels are pretty much never discussed here. When they are, it's usually a thinly-veiled anime thread.

>> No.5009899

>>5009885
I've seen perfectly legit discussions here before. Besides, /jp/ is the only place where you actually can discuss them, since light novels don't count as manga.

>> No.5009921

>>5009862
The readers say the anime is following them quite well, especially compared to the manga, but the LNs have better pacing and more action, especially this episode.
Check in easymodo some threads, there are translations.

No one ever mentioned the light novels on /jp/ until the anime started and Sion began shitposting with his screencaps of it. I doubt there are more than a couple of people who have read the novels past where the anime is.

LN are /jp/ related

Whether or not they should be /jp/ related is mostly a debate of the past, it wasn't as big as Touhou and Visual Novels though and eventually a spree of light novel anime adaptations were made and /a/ somewhat claimed it in a way as they came up in most of the anime threads.

But yes, light novels aren't anime and they aren't manga and the vast majority of them still only exists as books. I did and I somewhat still feel that they should be /jp/ related though I never pushed the issue and I didn't really argue.

So in theory I don't really have anything against light novel threads here, however, light novels with anime adaptions almost always change focus from the novel to whatever anime adaption it has and that doesn't really place here.
And sure one should be able to draw comparisons between the book(s) and whatever adaptions they may have, focus shouldn't shift from the books though.
As there are tons of people who whatches the anime adaptions and how the books are usually in japanese, people think that they can join the threads anyway as "Oh that book, I know that one! I whatched the anime once, surely I can contribute/join in on the discussion!" without knowledge of the books themselves.
The result is pretty much /a/ threads, really.
While I feel that light novels should be /jp/ related and even though I might perhaps even take it as far as to consider them /jp/ related personally, I wouldn't support them.
Sadly for the most part I can't really see how it would work.

That's because there are too few people so into light novels that they will read them before it has gained a lot of fame, either through being one of the best out there, or having an anime adaption.

Reading a light novel after hearing about the anime doesn't mean you can't discuss it.

>> No.5010004

>>5009996
I agree, and I'm not saying otherwise. I just don't think it's appropriate for threads like this to exist where people just post anime screenshots and don't discuss the actual novels at all. If they want to do that, they can go to /a/.
