Hatoyama's support rate falls to 20.7%
http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20100430a1.html

Seriously, for you political otakus.
This guy is a complete failure, am I right?

All I hear about from his administration is the constant failing to shift around the Futenma base countless times, finance corruption and that crazy idea about creating an actual Asian Union.

Will he be the quickest in and out Prime Minister of Japan? Or am I missing something here?

The entire establishment is against his party, that includes the media. He never had a chance. The knives were out from day one, the unelected government (which actually controls Japan) is against any change. They and their friends and allies in the business combines we be in control or no one will.

Current Japanese political situation is similar to Mexico.

Mexico's ruling party was always PRI, but then came some guy who said he'd change everything and make it better. Then for the first time a history, a party that wasn't PRI won.

However, this new party didn't really bring about any change. After the mid term government period of the first PAN party presidential candidate (Vicente Fox=>2004) many deputies and senators from PAN party has been accused of corruption

Hatoyama came into power in similar fashion, taking away control from the only ruling party and making history. It seems he's doomed to not be very different.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 30% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11 (see trends).

Rasmussen's tends to give Republicans a few extra percentage points than Democrats on late, but the bigger issue is that Rasmussen's system of using strong approval minus strong disapproval as the headline number instead of approval minus disapproval is really fucking nonstandard.

Obama's approval ratings are tepid. About equal numbers of people approve or disapprove of him, which is bad but not that bad. The thing is that people who disapprove of him are more likely to strongly disapprove, whereas people who approve of him are more likely to weakly approve. That's not good news for Obama, but it makes some sense: in the current environment it's hard to get really excited about somebody. (And yes, this WILL be a shitty year for Democrats electorally. But that's no excuse for overstating things.)
