Well my part of my dorm room is covered in animu junk, so my roommates at least know.

On the internet sure (you probably didn't fucking mean that), but I do share SOME interests I have with other people. I don't talk about how hot lolis are or Touhou though.

>> No.493605

>>493587
Yes, but not all of those interests.

>> No.493612

>>493604
Hey, there's nothing wrong with Touhou as long as you're just talking about the games and not how you listen to music remixes all day or about all the fan-made personalities for the characters.

>> No.493613

Only anime and manga. Not as in to it as I am. I introduced some type-moon shit to one of my friend.

>> No.493615

I do with 7 of them 2 of which are touhoufags to.
and thats it.
The rest know but aren't interested.

please elaborate.

I have quite a few friends. They share interests with me, though no one else really likes anime; but since I'm not an obnoxious asshole about it no one cares.

Basically if they feel like watching something they ask me, but other than that, meh.

A couple guys got really into Touhou with me, though they just play the games. One of them plays guitar for the band so secretely one of our songs are about Alice.

>> No.493656

None.

But I've been hanging around this girl for a month, she's quiet and pretty geeky. Sorta chubby, looks are a 6/10, but the thing is I know she likes the animu in some form. I can sense it.

Wondering if I should tap it, and then increase her animu power level

>> No.493658

>>493619
Well, not touhou(They know it, they played it, but they are not huge fans), not VK (Well actually I got bored of that for various reasons, so I have no problem with that) not failchan, not rpgfags

But yes animu, manga, bands, books, etc

No I don't share my interest in incest doujins with anyone else.

I discuss hot lolis and tentacle rape with my semi-weeaboo friend when we're riding on a bus. The looks people give us are priceless.

>> No.493735

I've got at least a friend who watch anime and plays VNs sometimes. Few other ones that watch anime but that's about it.

Hence I still have to store my porn in a very remote folder...

>> No.493754

My best friend is into most of the same shit I'm into, so we can converse pretty freely about it. Of course, everyone else looks at us like we're insane when we do ("you watch a cartoon about ballet?"), but fuck them.

He does not, however, know about my thirst for DFC. No one does, except for you, anon.

And the FBI, probably.

>> No.493828

I share. I have for years and will continue to do so. I watch barely a tenth of the anime my friends do, I'm less picky about watching something dubbed, and yet I'm the only one among us actually studying Japanese. Go figure. I'll also have one as a roommate next year and he is perhaps 10x the weeaboo I am, but is Chinese and to all stupid white people in Texas, he might as well be Japanese anyway.

To strangers, workmates and aquantances my power level is suppressed below 5 at all times, mostly I can rely on my wit and odd manner to impose myself into any open minded group. To the few people I count as friends, I will let out a few thousand power levels, showing them something like Hellsing OVA's or a random slice of life animu, attempt to meta-troll them by blaring 'annoying japanese retard dance music' when they come by, even though really I love it. But, full power levels have never been shown to anyone. My absolut touhou faggotry will only ever be my own.

>> No.493851

I keep my anime to myself. Most of my friends are video game guys like myself but I also follow sports. Baseball, basketball, football, etc. None of them share that either. Sometimes I have tried to bust out some Japanese music, but more often than not my friends aren't into it.

>> No.493861

I have a friend who has horrible taste in anime, but his power level is close to mine.

I have a couple of more friends who are casually into anime and have generally good standards and aren't newfags because I tell them what's up.

>> No.493862

As far as anyone else is concerned, all I know about Japan is Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Honda.

Two of my roommates have anime wall-hangings--and girlfriends. I've shared opinions and burned DVDs with one of the latter, but for the most part I don't hang out with anyone who lives in the same area.

As for my friends (who all live about two hours away now), we share everything we're interested in. I've given them copies of the Touhou games, helped them get VNs (though only a couple have played them), and shared music and youtube stuff (if the jokes weren't too far out of their frame of reference to get).

I don't share my lolis. Though at least one of 'em knows I have this thing for armored warrior types.

I have this picture on my cell. Showed it to him. We laughed.

I have a lot of "normal" friends from the university with whom I talk about studies and stuff. Then I have my nerd friends who I do all my hobbies with.

Both groups are as big as I'd want them, although it's unfortunate the two have virtually no overlap.

>> No.494057

I suppress, even with my friends who happened to be 4channers. Of course, I'll discuss animu or Japanese culture, but I will never let them know even 70% of what I do.

>> No.494065

most of the people know i like anime and stuff, my girlfriend also knows since she come over often. (yeah, its not that hard to get one, just go out, hang with your friends to clubs) no one really cares except me, im planning on taking the wall-hangings. Fortunately i dont have any figures but i have an original copy of school days.

I hide my interesting in anime and manga. However, I talk openly about my interest in Japanese Psychedelia and associated movements, and read classical Japanese literature in public. People around me tend to think it's interesting, or, at worst, a minor quirk.

I don't have any anime or manga posters in my room (which other people do actually see), but I do have a Flower Travellin' Band poster (it's a design derived from the original album cover of Anywhere) and a Kago painting. For a while I had an Ainu Liberation Army flag on my wall as well.

If they're there, they're going to see manga volumes on my bookshelf (yes, I buy manga, although I won't shell out for anime unless it's very special or a really damn good deal), but anybody would react viscerally to that or really care all that much wouldn't have been invited into my home in the first place.

It helps that all my friends are either ravers (who are quite possibly into anime themselves) or hippies (who are generally open-minded enough not to give a shit)

>> No.494094

To be honest I'm more open about it in real life.

In real life nobody cares, but if I talked about the stuff I'm into on SomethingAwful, there'd soon be a Helldump thread with my name on it.
