So I decided to read Tsukihime a while back. I got through the Near Side routes, but Ciel's route was pretty boring. It felt like Arc's route, only with a different chick.

Now that I'm on the Far Side routes (starting with Akiha), I'm having a hard time motivating myself to keep reading. Lots of info is being repeated. Is it worth pushing on, or should I just call it quits?

Just get through it, it won't take long. Akiha isn't that good, but it's worth it for Hisui's route.

Funny, Arc's route is like Ciel route but with a shitty character.

OP here.

I did like Ciel more, but her route felt so similar to Arc's that I couldn't enjoy it. Maybe if I'd played them the other way around...

... yeah, pretty much.

On a different note, how do you pronounce Ciel?

Is it SHEE-el?
SEE-el?
SHELL?

CHIel

Shit.

I felt the same, and took me over a year from when I started until I could bring myself to finish it. Didn't feel like it was worth it, except that I don't have to feel ashamed for not having finished it. Though there are variation between the routes, they ended up having way too much in common to be any interesting to me in any of the other routes. You know pretty much everything that is going to happen, and the writing certainly isn't exciting enough to make up for that.

I'd recommend just taking one route of your own choice from each side. Though even that's not really necessary if you're bored with the other side.

It's a French word, so why don't you just look it up?

Fuck.

It's an actual word?
brb looking up the meaning

Oh, it just means "sky". That's kinda boring.

How can you not stay motivated with moe tsundere Akiha?

>> No.4904348

You know, thinking about it, it's almost like they only really meant you to play the novel once. At least, that's the feeling I get because of all the repeated information.

>Ciels route before Akiha

Fuck you bastard, Arcueid is the best, because she is perfect, the other heroines cannot compete with her.

'Cause she hasn't really been very moe or tsundere yet. She's just yelled at me to come home and not do anything fun. She's kinda like a mom.

That's just Nasu's style.
He just have repeat everything countless time.

She's only doing it because she loves you and is worried about you.

Think about that.

What? Arc's route is a lot more emotional than Ciel's. Ciel's route is all about Roa's past, both routes are completely different, I don't see the similarities.

Not to mention she's your imouto and delicious flat chest
