We lasted an entire thread without a translated Halloween.jpg, I'm shocked yet impressed.

Thanks to Yuyucow and Anonymous in previous threads for digging up the links. Foobar can play the .tta files but if you feel like converting them to .FLAC or whatever for your MP3 player/Media player of choice then Foobar also provides an easy convert tool. Takes about a minute to convert the albums over to FLAC.

Did anyone ever have an idea why Shurelia didn't think it was strange that Aurica had a Hymn Code? Was it just an oversight on Shurelia's or the writer's part?

>> No.4846577

>>4846549

I seen one a few threads back but after taking a brief look through my browser history they all appear to be sold out again. You're still looking at least £60-70 to get your hands on one brand new though unfortunately. The guy in the previous thread should really haggle the price on that figure though, Ar Tonelico is such a niche series, especially in the UK and with a price tag that high I'm sure they'll never sell it.

>> No.4846588

>>4846573

I think it was just an oversight. You can clearly see her Hymn code is linked to Mir but nothing is mentioned about it.

>>4846569

None as of yet, as far as I know.

>> No.4846594

>>4846573
It could be any number of reasons. Writer oversight is unlikely given the fact it was deliberately put there as a major storyline element. It's possible she just over-looked it, it was an extremely stressful situation, she had more important things to worry about.

Shurelia is a bit of an airhead, so if it wasn't explicitly stated, we'll never know if it was part of some master plan, or if she was just being airheaded.

I know it's Mir's in the Japanese version, I'm just wondering if even they'd pick up on the major point that a 3rd gen has a hymn code at that point in the game or not. Couldn't remember if that was said in-game or in one of the side books.

I dunno, it's possible.

My memory is pretty fuzzy about that series of events, though. Who was it that said something like "What, you don't even know your own hymn codes? Go dive and find out."? Was that Lyner's dad, Shurelia, or maybe Ayatane? I don't remember at all.

>> No.4846711

>>4846705

Lyner's father says that to Lyner when he doesn't know what their Hymn codes are or how to go about getting them. He then tells him to go to the dive shop and talk to the fag there to get them. Nothing is mentioned about 3rd gen reyvateils not having a hymn code.

>> No.4846725

>>4846711

You'd think that he would be aware of the fact as well, though. Maybe Platina has mostly β-reyvateils or something. Was Shurelia in the room at the time, or did they only run into her when they went to sing?

>> No.4846738

>>4846725

Shurelia wasn't there, she was at the altar with Ayatane trying to delay the virus until Lyner arrived with the Purger. And Misha states that she's the only β reyvateil remaining, or at least that's what Shurelia said to her. I dunno if that's bullshit or not, I'm just going by what I've read up to where I am so far.

I seem to remember something being mentioned somewhere about 3rd generation Reyvateils occasionally getting registered with the tower upon birth as the result of some sort of glitch, but they only get the hymn code of a Reyvateil that's already registered, and it can cause problems.

Am I talking shit, or has this been mentioned somewhere? Could that be an explanation?

>> No.4846791

>>4846779
Found it, in the wiki:

>Third Generations do not have a Hymn Code, but they are still connected to the Tower and are able to sing Song magic, and can be as useful as any other Reyvateil. There are some exceptions, such as Reyvateils that have the Hymn Code of another Reyvateil because of a system error on the Song Servers, or Reyvateils that are using the β ER technique (the D Cellophane Grathnode Crystal).

Shurelia could have just thought it was this rare occurrence, and nothing was wrong.

Although it's far, FAR more likely the writers messed up.

Anonymous got sick of seeing Mir having her way with his meido.

I seem to recall Shurelia saying that there are a few more beta Reyvateils running around Platina, but probably none (except Misha) in the wings of Horus. Of course, it's possible that the ones in Platina are just previous Lune clones, and at one point she ALSO basically says "the tower is big, who knows, maybe there's another one out there somewhere".

Oh, Shurelia. I love you, but sometimes I wonder how the tower stays in order ...

Shurelia says in Toukousphere 17 that they only end up singing for about 20-40 years or so, and then spend the rest of their lives in Platina. Of course, Misha comes along at the beginning of the next one and totally goes off on Shurelia for saying that; Misha says they basically sing until they're used up, and the rest of their lives are probably not very fulfilling after that ...

Which makes sense, if you think about it. That wing of Horus was dropped about 400 years ago, and Misha is the 33rd Reyvateil in the Lune lineage. That gives you an average of 12 years per Hoshiyomi. So, it's true that they don't spend literally their entire lives in the Crescent Chronicle, but the quality of their remaining life is probably questionable, even if they're living in Platina.

I can't find exactly where I read how many Hoshiyomi there have been before Misha. I have a vague recollection Tastiella talks about it in another Toukousphere, but I can't find it off-hand.

Take your pick. It's supposed to have the same ending as the other goddesses, as we have seen from the Toukosphere, but one is translated Tyria and the other is translated Frelia. Welp.

You can remove the EN thing, trust me. Right click it > Settings > Language Bar > Unmark the show on desktop option. And keep ABP, it comes in handy for when you need it. Right click it > Options > Show on status bar.

Hey guys, what do they mean by Will of Gaea and what does it do?

>> No.4867101

Isn't that just the heroine in phase 2? Whoever you picked is basically turned into the heart of the continent for Gaea, and their will is basically the will of Gaea. No?

>> No.4867378

>>4867101
I wonder if it's due to poor localization. Well it was mentioned at the end that Nenesha was being influenced by the "Will of Gaea" or something, hence she's pretty stubborn about wanting Sublimation to occur (this line is spoken by Luca after you defeat Ryuju).

That's why I'm confused, it wasn't mentioned at all in Phase 3 or 4 but then the term suddenly pops back up in Phase 5.

>> No.4868036

>>4867378
In the Japanese version, it's just the Heart of the Land, that thing you need to have to have Metafalica work. When Nenesha was killed, she left behind a Heart of the Land - the one in the Moon Culvert - probably because, like Cloche or Luca, she was in the middle of singing Metafalica at the time. I think that's what Infel used to "revive" Nenesha. Probably what happened is the revival was imperfect and ended up overpowering Infel, or something. I rather got the impression that Jakuri meant Infel was the one being influenced. The conversation you're referring to is something like (sorry for the crappy off-the-cuff translation) ...

まずいね…あの大地の心臓の「魅惑力」にはまってしまったようね。
Jakuri: Oh no ... it looks like she's totally taken in by the power of the Heart of the Land ...
あ…あの大陸創生の時の…!
Croix: Oh ... ! Like during the creation of the continent ... !
そうよ。自らの信念が全てになってしまう、あの不完全の意志の力…!
Jakuri: That's right. The power of that imperfect spirit, whose conviction has become everything ... !

I don't remember what they called it on the demon continent, and I don't think I have a save conveniently placed to go find out at the moment, but 大地の心臓 (lit. heart of the land) is what they say at the end of the game, and "Gaea" is always referred to as 魔大陸 (lit. demon continent) once people know what's going on.

Maybe the Settei Book has more. I haven't looked through the translations much, I'm kind of waiting to just get my own copy.

>> No.4868166

>>4868036
Thanks for clearing that up, but what effect has the "Will of Gaea" on people? Nenesha and Infel wasn't making nor guarding a "Gaea" like Cloche/Luca did in Phase 2, or did Nenesha went bonkers after 400 years or so? I'm not so sure, but wasn't the Nenesha at the end of the game taken from the data in the D-Cellophane? Not sure how does the Heart/Will of Gaea affects her data that was excess from D-Cellophane.

Well this is kinda long, thanks in advance for putting up with me.

I just spent the past few hours reading the SA thread on AT2, and [spoilers]it looks like the important thing I missed from not playing Luca's path is that Nenesha was kind of really a bitch. So Nenesha being all "fuck your promise, I wanna sing Sublimation and I have pink hair" at the end of the game may have just been Nenesha being Nenesha, and something about the situation (not sure what) made Infel willing to go along with it. She sounded like she was being hypnotized or something, which is what makes me think it was some sort of weird reaction to an incomplete version of Nenesha revived from the Heart of the Land that was under the Moon Culvert. Or something. Remember, that Heart of the Land was basically Nenesha's, according to Loudness. I thought finding it is what made it possible for Infel to bring her back.[/spoiler]

Dunno if it's worth spoilering all this, but eh!

>Still waiting for them to announce the English release date of Atelier Rorona, it's supposed to be released Q2 ;_;

Yeah, an english release date and price would really help me here. Same with Trinity Universe (it's supposedly released in June but no exact date yet, nor price). There are several games, both already out and upcoming, that I'm interested in, but I'm broke and only have enough for one or two games, depending on their cost (if the game is $50 or above I only have enough for one). Most of the ones I want are $40. If I just knew how much Rorona and TU cost; if they're $60 I can eliminate them for the choices unless I *really* want one of them that badly.

Oh sorry, just the ramblings of a rambling man. But since NISA is releasing two games in the summer (not to mention they just got done with Sakura Wars) and we haven't heard confirmation that they got AT3 yet, we probably won't get AT3 until next year. It's going to be a long wait.

>> No.4871753

>>4871643

You could risk it and wait a couple of months after they're released for the price to go down, they may go out of stock though since I know quite a few niche RPGs that only have a limited run before they're sold out completely.

>>4871753

Yeah. Plus I feel like I should contribute to sales to give the idea to devs that *some* people like their games, but I don't think devs and pubs count sales anymore after a month or two (do they?), so I feel like I shouldn't take too long buying them new.
