Assuming this is full power Saber with Avalon: Nanoha is purely beamspam, which would never get through to Saber. Fate is similar, with more focus on close range, but still purely magic based.

Vita is pretty much the only one that could beat her with Avalon.

Personally I agree to a extent that StrikerS tried something new and failed to live up to our standards, however I also feel that StrikerS had some good ideas.

Firstly, I'm not opposed to Nanoha and Fate growing up. As 19 year old girls they are both incredibly hot and have filled out well. The problem is more in the time we've missed out on where character development could have happened and key moments of their life are now forever missed short of flashbacks.

The cast was over extended and the focus of the show shifted from Nanoha and her friend to Nanoha's students. Anyone who wasn't Nanoha had their time considerably shortened for the new kids as they had to go through the motions of reintroducing the setting and the norm.

The numbers were a good idea, a uniform team of villains with each member representing a specialization in which they could match up to or even beat a ace on, but are individually much weaker. The theme of teamwork would have worked better later in the show if they hadn't completely abandoned it at times for duelling 1v1. Still, the numbers themselves made alot of sense and were a good element to the show, but they had alot of time taken from them by basically hiding them behind shitty filler robots who served no purpose other then to give the newbies something to train on.

After that it comes down to poor management of screen time and terrible decisions like having half a season of training episodes that could have been done better in the manga. Oddly the manga had some good character development moments not shown in the anime. The extra characters like Caro and Elio could have been completely dropped, they contributed NOTHING OF VALUE not to mention the studio can't draw monsters for shit so making a character specialise in summoning them is pointless.

I was a bit hesitant about Vivio at first. For a while I thought she may have introduced a unwanted element into Nanoha's character ultimately used to weaken her role as some ungodly demon of justice, but it was nice to see that Vivio had the opposite effect, Nanoha just continued on as before and showed the world that if she was your mom she would make damn sure you could pick yourself up and stand for yourself. Then Vivio inevitably got kidnapped and gave Nanoha something to be actually effected by for once and even then she just beat her way to her child AND THEN BEAT HER BACK TO NORMAL.

So I'd say Vivio is a positive development. Though I'm not too keen on her power of age progression and magic rainbow balls, but whatever. I guess they were running out of colours to have for their Belkan magic circles.
