This is my first few seconds of Vocaloiding. I would like to receive some advice before I proceed.
I did peruse the instructions on the web and have some sense of what the properties mean, but quite can't use them affectively yet. Something's not right in this result, but I don't know what.

Original song I'm trying to copy:

This sounds quite good. Have you considered:

a) Changing the gender factor of some of your singers to give it a more natural feel?
b) Playing around with different vibrato length/feel for each singer. It sounds a little strange when the vibrato synchronises perfectly

Here's one I threw together the other day, with Luka. I haven't actually got round to playing with any of the parameters other than gender.

Sounds very good OP. Keep it up.

Those are very helpful tips. Thanks! So when modifying the gender, those on the lower note(tenor and bass) should have bigger gender stats(deeper voices), right? And should I be consistent with each singer's gender, or should I change the gender stats throughout the songs accordingly?

Sadly the pronouciation doesn't feel natural at all. She's supposed to pronounce Japanese and you make her pronouce Latin.

There was already someone who made Vocaloids sing in Latin, so I guess it's just my lack of experience and not an impossibility.

How to make Miku pronounce like this?

Oh wow, yeah it's indeed possible. But that's not Miku, that's Rin and Len. Maybe they have some sort of add-on allowing them to pronounce latin?

Rin/Len and Miku is about the same, ability-wise.

There's actually a male vocaloid released not too long ago (forgot his name), so you should probably try using him for a more natural tenor. Still no bass range vocaloid though of course (at least not for Vocaloid 2 singers).

Also, I've played around with it a bit, making this test song last month:

I found that it can be really hard to get Luka to sound intelligible in the mix if her range is too high (the first part especially - for this particular song - is hard to make out at all without headphones), and better mixing definitely helps too. Also you can try playing around with portamento settings to try to get more natural phrasing - think if you right click a note it'll let you choose what accent to put on it.
