I remember that movie.

Actually I don't but I remember watching it and that it was boring.

I remember watching it and getting annoyed that the lead character is a rich, lonely girl when the film was written by a rich, "lonely" girl.

Furthermore, she's in a whole new country and all she does is passive-aggressively mope around because her boyfriend photographer isn't paying attention to her.

The fuck? Get off your ass. It's a whole other world out there. I mean, sure, she goes to a temple and is pissed off because she can't "feel" anything. Well, boo-frickin-hoo. You know why that is? Because there can be no "feeling" without work first. You brought to Japan on the back of your boyfriends money. Maybe if you'd made a journey, made some independent out-reach you could have had that "feeling" you wanted. But this is a problem with our generation generally, instant gratification. They want not only physical pleasures but even spiritual pleasures to be delivered to them on a plate. It doesn't work that way.

I very mad.

And another thing, her supposedly spiritual connection with Cap Suntory here is torn apart when you realise the fundamental insipidness of this leading female. She's not really that connected with him - he's just more desirable than her current boyfriend who doesn't make enough time for her. That isn't worth the level of emotion evident in the final, whispered goodbye.

We need to care about a character if we're to invest in that much emotion in them, and the female lead in that film just isn't worth it.

I dont usually care about actors that much, but I loved the scenery and the Tokyo shots

It was beautifully shot, no doubt about it.
And Bill Murray is great, along with his character.

The female lead was so, you want to punch her in the face.

I think you are missing the underlying message in the movie. The main characters are literally lost in themselves, they cannot find the path to what motivates them until they discovered each other wallowing in their states of self pity.

I do feel that Scarlett is not a good actress but after seeing the movie enough, I think she was a great fit for the role. Even though I would of written more dramatic emotional scenes.

That reminds me of "Ramen girl", it was kinda like what you describe and a fun enough watch. Also the chef of the store was awesome.
