Only the level number matters in solo fights.

Only pick characters with high levels. Shikigami guard is also good at protecting people.

If you don't care about points, you can select retry on the third battle to resume from there with full health.

The shark teeth actually weren't there before Rance 5D. He's also not explicitly shown being a lefty before VI (the older games had his dungeon sprite hold a sword in his right hand and a shield in his left while the CG during battles showed him wield a two-handed sword).

He's been as awesome as he is all the time and we don't know who his parents are as he's an orphan (he doesn't even know his last name, that's why he's always just "Rance" while everyone else has a last name).

1 denotes professional ability, 2 denotes genius ability, 3 denotes godlike status for that particular thing.

Nobody ever goes up from one rank to another unless an item is involved or something weird occurs.

apostles are kind of like youkai, they can be powerful but anything can hurt them.
Demons can only be hurt by a sword with a hero's soul bound inside it, of which only 2 exist (that we currently know of).

When a Unit is annihilated it goes down to 0/500 or whatever. No matter what it has to reach 0 to be annihilated in troop combat. Kentarou after becoming a demon never goes below 1/###. You can sell his units and leave him at 1/1 and use him as an eternal shield.

In dungeon combat he cannot be harmed by anything below Demon level. Xavier, Orochi and that other superboss can harm him as a demon. Suzaku, the apostles and everything else cannot (although one would think the presence of Nikkou constantly in his possession would lower his invincibility barrier since that is how it works on Xavier with either Rance or kentarou in combat, and explains why Rance can hurt him as Rance owns Chaos)

Of the two Yamamoto's felt easier to me, I basically turtled against the Demon Army forever and they gained no ground until the eventual forced final battle.

Kenshin's is a little different because you may have to reload a few times if Xavier kills people you want to keep around, also once he goes into Yamatai you have 5 turns before game over. However, Kenshin with the Emperor Aura is crazy broken, 2 turns are spent for the enemy instead of one.

This is the Rance thread closest to the first page so I'm asking in it.

I just entered Ran's route and saved Soun, What should I do to maximize points and finish asap? Not really trying to unlock anymore family routes so whatever is fastest/best to do. I was planning to affection bonus at each new Sat bonus I get from now on since I have Uruza and Magic for Rance's love for more Affection and character clears. Definitely don't want to waste too many turns clearing since i'd lose points.

Don't have permits. Not quite sure when I'll get them if at all in a Ran route. Hoping to finish at 60 turns if possible, I'll do a better point route later with the permits but this is just an initial point route after my first game.

I wouldn't aim too high for points if that's your team right now. Picking up the two archers from Isoroku might work (they start on a higher trust level than normal generics), but try to pull out the really easy clears from your prison (if you have any). The tanukis are great for that if you have any.

I just grabbed one from Asai actually. Are the dungeon/ogre battles I have to do with Ran preset in each country or will they only appear in ones I've taken? Definitely going to try and take more strong dungeon units but I'm not sure when/what finishing a Ran route takes. Wiki guidelines but is still Vague. If I can get enough for some permits, Youkai bonus and some stat books I think i can get a large amount of points on a next game. I cleared the youkai on my first run since I was too far gone to get any points by the time i could beat Xavier.
