I am sorry /jp/, but this has to be done. CNN is making a poll and believes that Japan ban sexually violent video games. Do you want this? Currently the normalfags have gotten the lead.Vote no!

I'd suspect that 2channers are collectively flocking to all the proxies they can find, to re-cast their votes. So I wouldn't worry about it. The poll can't really stay up for much longer, and so it's quite believable that they/we could focus on it for a long enough time to turn the tide. If it continued on for even like a day or two more, then the chans' short attention spans would stop caring and the effort would probably be wasted.

Although you usually don't hear about it (almost never on 4chan), they actually are VERY much preoccupied with how other people/countries think of Japan. They wouldn't just come say that here though for the same reason that you wouldn't just go ask, "What do you guys think of the US?" on Futaba channel. All you'd get are trolls and "get the fuck out of here", like we sometimes do to nihonjin here actually. Even then, just saying it was rigged just makes them look like they're making up excuses to cover for their shitty voting system. Plus it renders the data ambiguous/unusable for any later citations, which is way better than the poll being able to be used as a +1 for the lobby groups. Now it'll just be a 0 or even a -1 if we keep shit up.

I kinda doubt that CNN cares that much about some daily poll that they already admit is unscientific, so the votes probably won't get corrected any more since it'd be too much of a hassle. After all, if proxies in the end never did anything for high-profile internet voting contests, well then why did moot win fucking most influental person the other year?

Well they don't have to invade them when Japan is under military control of the US indirectly.
This is psychological and economic warfare to pressure the government of Japan which is under pressure themselves into a subservient status to anglo-american interests.
Here on CNN I they are still showing the evil Jap whale machinery and how Japan is the evil of the world to destroy civil boats and jazz like that right from the science labs of the spin-doctor brigade of the mass media manipulation division

I'm pretty sure the root of this whole shitfest is some Korean reporters being fucking dicks, and using their rank in the company to get their shitty stories online however they could. It's not some conspiracy or anything silly like that. Because the writers made the article specifically designed to hit a chord with feminists and with ignorant normalfags who know absolutely nothing about what's actually a common and accepted part of Japanese culture, it gets lots of hits because it's worded in such a sensationalist fashion. I mean think about it, if the original link was titled something more along the lines of "Sexually explicit game causes stir", which sounds like a couple of ho-hum articles that attacked Grand Theft Auto games, rather than the eye-catching "Rape game causes outrage", then the article would have gone practically unnoticed in comparison. So what gave it the dirt-slinging, tabloid-like article name? Probably whoever wrote it, aka some anti-Japanese Korean faggot/bitch.

All that the article REALLY is to CNN, is just a pre-bottled can of "look at this sensational story we've got" that they kept waiting around to open up whenever they felt that they needed some kind of gossipy/shock value story to boost traffic. This is obvious since the report is based on a very old game, and BBC did a very similar report like a year ago. It's canned "news" to tide over people until the iPad launched, and now they have like 4 iPad articles dominating the pages.

Don't there was that Bad Apple story a little while ago; CNN can't be ALL that bad. They just don't realize that what is to them, some unimportant little funtime poll, can easily be weaponized by lobbyists in their quest to damage/break the ero industry. They'll grasp at any straws they can get.

Yeah it was, but it was only due to the sheer ignorance of its makers; it wasn't intended to be a bad / dissing-type scoop at all. Rather more of a "look at this cool ass video on Youtube". Which if you think about it, is pretty fucking amazing for CNN to air and call it news, considering that it wasn't really relevant to anything besides Touhou fans.

Oh geez if you want level-headed arguments there are thousands out there already (among millions of crap).

The opposing viewpoint is that violence in game is not the goal but instead the means to achieve the game's goal. Like a game of tag, shooting someone is just a means of winning rather than the actual act of shooting itself. Another example is fighting games where beating up the other person is done to lower their health points rather than just to act out beating someone up.
Rape games, on the other hand, has its goal as depicting rape as best as it can. No other goal, rape isn't used as a means to achieve anything but to act out rape. Good gray-line games are like Sengoku Rance where rape is just a cutscene where rape happens, and some prostitution games has rape as a means of making money. Present those games to the feminists and they will still become outraged, but the general public will have less of a reaction. Rapelay, however, is a full on rape -simulation-.
GTA is a good point on violence because players can act out semi-realistic violence as just to commit violent acts. But you can't argue using GTA because as any google search will net you with, GTA has received flak in exponential multiplicity to rapelay. People have already been argue about violence and banning violent games.

Cool story bro and I will argue that porn movies with domination, rape, bondage or teen themes have no other goal then to depict domination, rape, bondage and the exploitation of underage girls in the best way they can. They are evil and must be banned, searching, owning and the distribution of such materials must be made punishable by law to protect our children

Hah, nothing could be so further from the truth. Rape games invariably depict stupid fictional fetish bullshit versions of rape, just like the stylized "rape" seen in rape porn videos.

>> No.4807725

>>4807703
I'd say banning of any kind is stupid.
Banning things causes the creation of victimless crimes.

While games like Rapelay are silly, they certainly don't deserve to be banned as they're just fictional content that doesn't hurt anyone. At best it hurts someone's ``feelings'' that such content exists, but the only one doing damage to themselves is the stupid person that choses to actually care about it. One could also argue that such content may stop some crimes, but I'm not a heavy believer in that (I think that such crimes would exist regardless if these games exist or not, but they may or may not reduce them in some idealistic situation).

The act of creating victimless crimes is itself a crime against humanity in my value system, thus I see people who actually want various harmless things banned as hampering the progress of humankind.
