I wouldn't say it sucked, but it definetly didn't have the emotional overwhelmness the first one had.

I was daaaaaaw'ng all the time seeing Setsumi acting so innocent, something we didn't have with the original Narcissu.

Overall it was a good read, I have preference for the original novel, but I liked this one as well. Now I'm left without my weekly dose though, curse you Agilis for releasing the game.

I find it a little hard to believe that he didn't write the first Narcissu to be sad. It felt like it was trying way too hard to be sad and he chose to write about terminal illness, which is easy modo for tear jerkers. Narcissu 2 doesn't seem to be as bad in that regard but I'm only like halfway through it.

I've seen some people who work really fucking fast like Aroduc (Big Bang Age, Galaxy Angel). But I think what you need to realize is that most of the ones who are working on translating VNs usually aren't enthusiastic in doing their work. Don't ask me why but that's just the way it is. There's also usually some technical problems like having to hack the VN's files or something and there are times when they simply just are too preoccupied by their studies and/or job.

It's not that simple. Sometimes text doesn't make sense when translated directly and so the translator has to try and find away to change it into a way that works in english which still illustrates what the author was trying to say.

That's the other thing. Pretty much all these guys don't get paid for this and have jobs, so this is all a hobby done in their spare time.
