Im curious...Genuinely curious about something. Before i start it i know half of you will get pissed and call me a troll. I am NOT.

What i want to know is how can you guys (most of you residing in america) enjoy japanese culture so much? Japan was responsible for multiple atrocities like the Rape of Nanking and the Bataan Death march. How can you support a country that did things like that?

Short answer: We don't like japanese culture.
Expanded answer: We enjoy very specific subsets of japanese culture which are not supported by the majority of japan. Most of us do not "support" these cultures by buying the majority of the games/books/movies/etc we get. Being in 4chan, you should know this.

I support what Japan did during the war. The Occident was creeping up on them, they exploited the Sick Man of Asia, and were working their way eastward, to the glorious Land of the rising Sun. Realizing that no longer could they put faith in ancient Chinese ideals found in Confucianism and Buddhism, otherwise they would end up with the same fate as China itself, they decided to modernize, progress, and play the Imperialistic game they were challenged to. Sickened by thier Occidental opressors who would not treat them as equal players, on this grand Game Board of Global Domination, they abandoned their ties with the Western Powers and formed an Alliance with the Axis of Powers. After being pushed around for so long, and put at a disadvantage by underhanded tactics, they resorted to similar tactics of their own. The only reason Japan is seen in such a negative light is because they made some major errors and lost the way.

I'm not Chinese so I don't give a fuck what Japanese did to the Chinese.
Japanese give me delicious anime, Touhou, and VN.
