>We definitely are at 6%, or perhaps slightly more than this. Please do not get your hopes up.

>That being said, the good news is that we finally have some time to work on Episode 6. However, please note that doesn't mean we will go hardcore and start moving at a rapid pace. Again, we all have many personal demands on our time. Plus, Episode 6 is yet again pretty wicked in twists and whatever you can expect from Ryukishi.
>Therefore, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to release a full patch for Episode 6 by the time Episode 7 is released.

The butt... it hurts.

>Finally, we are still working on an update for the EP1-4 patch, since it hasn't had one since before EP5 and is long overdue. This is mainly to touch up some of the character TIPs and sync the patch with EP5, not a full sweeping update.
>Allow me to remind you that our objective is to allow the english community to enjoy and understand Umineko in English. As such, it isn't a plain "translate as quickly as possible" purpose.

>6%

Oh man, even I feel trolled. At this rate we probably can't even expect a full translation by the time Episode 8 is finished. Gonna be some sad little campers on all the boards it's finally done and noone even cares to discuss it anymore... of course, anyone coming to any of the boards will inevitably been spoiled to hell and already know what happens anyway.

Pimpin aint easy, but the same can't be said of trolling. My butt is hurting already and I'm not even one of the people who getting the worst of it.

It's going to be a sad year.

Witch Hunt has gotten lazy.

Remember when Chronotrig said that EP6 will be fully translated by the time EP7 is released?

They've been slacking off.

That or just bringing on a new face or two who actually CAN work on it while the main team is busy. Slow progress is better than no progress. There are gonna be some sad pandas out there if Episode 7 comes out and blows the whole case wide open while the non moonspeakers are still waiting on a translation of Episode 6.

And I'm pretty sure Ep 7 WILL pretty much solve everything- same as in Higurashi, the final chapter of the story will be bring about some kind of happy conclusion to things now that the whole truth has finally been revealed.

This is the absolute worst possible time for Witch Hunt to suddenly start dragging their feet. I mean shit, they've been at this for two or three years and only NOW they suddenly can't get anything done? Not that we can do anything about it, but that's some epic tier trolling right there, intentional or not.

WTF, Nanjo = Nanjo's grand daughter? Since when did women grow mustaches? I think Shanontrice is possible but it is either Shkanon or Shanontrice, the two don't mix.

How does the idea of gathering ~100 uminekofags with 5$ each to pay for the EP6 speed translation sound?

College and work doesn't take up an entire day.

>> No.4762033

Impractical. If the guys at Witch Hunt are like any other translation/subbing/fanwork group ever, throwing money at them is the worst possible solution. Once they get it into their heads that they can expect to be paid for their work, they won't want to work without it, and they will effectively hold further work for ransom.

Honestly, I think most translation groups these days understand this as well so they restrain themselves from pushing for donations too much, or limit it to maintaining their servers and such. That or they just don't want to look too greedy since no one else is doing it.

Unless you are suggesting we fund some other group to speedsub it in Witch Hunt's absence. Although that could end up even worse in the long run...

I can't really think of a good analogy for the current situation. Whether you think we've been pampered or not (honestly we have, but that's not the issue here), the threat of the next episode being released before the current one is translated is a matter of quite a bit of consternation.

My main fear is that by the time the final episodes are translated, the moonspeakers and spoilerfags will have lost interest and the discussions will be lackluster at best. And that is a real problem- the vast majority of what makes Umineko fun is the discussions and theorycrafting... there aren't alot of series where this level of speculation really happens. Most of them just turn into general waifu threads, trolling, or powerlevel foolishness (Type Moon, I'm looking at you).

Losing out on the chance to be able to discuss things while everyone is on the same relative page is a major letdown. Life goes on I guess, but really it's every ones loss.

If your greatest fun is trying to make sense of this shit, then ALL the people who also read it when it is ACTUALLY released will be happy to do so in the threads you guys always make after releases.
The fact that there won't be spoilers of the new episode which 3 people in JP have read and understand does not undermine it.
You are indeed fucking pampered, if your enjoyment out of a VN need to have a sidedish of fanwanking.
