What's Kara no Shoujo supposed to be about anyway?

Awesome news nevertheless.

This by far my favorite VN. I hope we can get some good discussions when the whole translation is complete.

It's not Type-Moon or Umineko, don't expect much.

Yeah. Just like with Nitro+ games I guess most we'll get is:
"Hey, this VN is really good."
"I really liked it when Character X did something."
"Yeah, but it was great when Y did something else."
"That was nice too."
"Yeah."
"..."

Oh, and obviously people asking for hints.

I really didn't expect much at first. Installed it and even waited a few month before actually beginning it, but then I was totally blown away.

The only downside is that they wanted too much, didn't have the time/money to work it all out and had to shorten a lot of it. It's kinda funny: Near the end you'll meet an unimportant person out of nowhere who quickly explains you the missing ten hours or so of the story in a few sentences.

>> No.4719808

>>4719572
Yeah, if they somehow put a witch in the middle of the mystery it'd have been oh so much better.

Especially if in each new chapter she'd take her time to introduce the reader to her new supernatural tomodachis, eh?

is this like karawa shojou

Holy shit the translation was fabulously fast, I just hope that the quality is okay. Awesome game with awesome mystery. I seriously hope that people stop overhyping umineko after this one.

>didn't have the time/money to work it all out
And that's probably the reason why they kept their last game (Caucasus) rather simple: few characters within a small area.

>>4719808
>her new supernatural tomodachis
This is one of Karas strengths: All characters look authentic and also act that way. It adds a lot to the atmosphere. There is only one character who is over the top (in artwork and behavior). I don't know what they thought when creating her, but I guess she's just a counterpoint to the rest. Most other VN never achieve this level of authenticity (this includes the other Innocent Grey games), or better: they don't even try.

Kara is btw a pseudo-sequel to Cartagra. But it's not necessary to play it before (is it even translated yet?). The story is different and there are no real spoilers in Kara. The only thing you can find out is that the characters who appear in Kara are neither victims nor culprits in Cartagra. But because they are primarily the protagonist and the main girl, this isn't much of a surprise.

Can't wait to play this.

Sounds good enough for me and it's better than nothing. People who enjoyed it talk about what they like. What more would you want?

And maybe the others will follow after that. It's about time. Great stuff, even though they are not on the same level as Kara and all have considerable flaws:

>Cartagra
Has Nana, the ultimate atmosphere killer. It's okay when she appears in a comedy like Innogre (from Nagomibako), but you can't have such a character in a "serious" story. Also the final chapter is badly written.

>Pianissimo
I like the background: 1930ies militaristic Japan with historical references. I'd love to play a VN in this setting. Too bad PP gigantically fails in this aspect, there is absolutely no such atmosphere. Also the stupidity is rather strong in this one.

>Nagomibako
Only three short and semi-serious stories in addition to the previous VNs, so this doesn't really count.

>Caucasus
Adventure-mode! Already Kara had some adventure-elements, but very discreet so that they added flavor without being much of a nuisance. This is okay, but making it so predominantly like in this VN is simply too much.

Still they all are better than most other VNs out there. Of course only for those who like the mystery/detective genre and don't mind the adult content.
