Does Higurashi have the best cast ever seen in a VN?

Because i can't think of anything better, all the main character have their focus, there is tons of character development (sometimes hard to grasp) and they all extremely likable.

I do like that Takano was more insane and traumatized than directly evil/murderous, but I never liked much of the cast.

Shion and Takano are my favorites.

Care to name some specific titles? Looseboy's casts are good but I still prefer Higurashi's. Nitro+ characters are usually pretty forgettable (I know /jp/'s Nitro+ fanboys will flame me for this).

As >>4709076 noted, Phantom has excellent cast.
Muramasa's cast is huge, and all of the characters get time for them to shine.
Sumaga is also worth noting, going as far as making one one the characters the one that everybody hates when they love all of the rest. That's genius.
I could say this for most of their games, but that should do.
Nitro+ also has some of the best protagonists ever, instead of being just blank fillings for readers like some other companies do.

My favorite cast overall would be Oretsuba, it has one awesome cast.
Thank to the great writing, the dialogues are really witty which add to the chemistry between the different characters, all of them feel really interesting and even characters who only have a small appearance feel unique.

Close would be Muramasa and Saihate no Ima I guess, they also have a very strong cast.

But that has noting to do with it, since Ryukishi tends to write same game for four years, doing episodic releases, he also does all of the art of the games himself, further reducing need for more staff.
Nitro+ has few core writers and artists that work with them, rest are miscellaneous staff such as coding, editing, etc. Urobuchi used to writer one VN a year in the first years of the studio.
