Angle change on the Hiroshima port cam, more military ships clearly in vision now. I have toured both Yokosuka and Kure port and IMO there is significantly more expensive hardware at the Kure port, especially the Japanese. the Dragons are just to the upper right. the Soryus.

If you want to post some photos, feel free to do it. People used to do that more before. The thread doesn't have to be super strict in its content.
Just don't expect the OP to change and to reference a photo thread in any way.
I guess what I personally would like to see more is people post more variety of camera screenshots/videos with whatever of interest in them. We definitely used to do that more after the death of Aizu-Wakamatsu.
I have to admit I barely open a cameras nowadays, busy enough with other stuff. Still, I will try to be at least a bit of the chance I would like to see.

This is totally acceptable. In fact it could be expanded a bit. As in any area where there is a camera, which there are many of. General pretty/comfy pics have always been accepted. There is some level of tourist photos and /int/ tier discussions I want to avoid by all cost. There is a difference between people watching, a cute girl next to a train/on a station, and just posting random masturbation material. In general non-people involved pics are better, with reasonable exception, and reasonable "people watching" just like it would be on a camera.

I hope that writing it like this on some level it will deter /int/-like newfags. If I dislike the results, in case it somehow turns catastrophic, I will change it back whenever. I will expect photofags to self-moderate anything that seems too out of place. I might sound autistic, but we are on /jp/ after all. Let's try to have nice, comfy threads.
I hope we can reach a reasonable compromise this way. I have been saying it for a long time. I don't like a full-merge, but I have never been against photo posting here, as long as it is fits the overall atmosphere of the threads. So I am suggesting this kinda soft-merge, making it a bit more easy to find, but also still a bit more "in the know" side.
One last thing, if we are doing this, despite me being "the OP" with the github, I consider the Yunokami webm anon way more important than myself at the moment. So I would like to ask him >>47062826 if he is okay with any of this, before doing it. Should we do the small OP change, or not even bother with that and leave it 100% for people "in the know". Though it might be hard to confirm that it is you, at least try responding with a new webm of yours.

Was wondering where that is. Looked a lot like the shopping street I used to live, but also didn't seem like an exact view I remember from it. Unsurprisingly it is Osaka, which is why it probably looks similar. More specifically in Nishinari, the famously poor neighborhood, next to Tengachaya Station.

I climbed to the "observation deck" linked above at night. Nothing difficult really, there is even a car road leading to there. Stayed there for a while, hoping the mist will clear up. There were some teens talking and laughing near me. Didn't feel like engaging in a conversation with them at the time. Neither did they. After that I walked to the other side of the mountain, where there is another view point and a park for kids https://maps.app.goo (dotto) gl/fW2HMgbb8rmfSy44A On the way to there I passed shrines and a few houses that were actually in the mountain. Then I proceed to go down to a net cafe and sleep there.
It is just a small part of the trip I had that year, trips really. Some of the net cafes I slept at have closed since. Their prices went up and offering less "free" services, such as breakfast. Again, just one small element of change, but I already feel like I could never have another trip quite like that ever again. I was very lucky to be able to this while the country was closed.

i went up the same path
passed a little gallery when coming down following the road. it was marked as a cafe on google. the elderly couple running it was a little surprised when i asked for coffee but they made me some and we chatted a little (as much as language levels allowed lol)
i feel like that part has retained those comfy vibes quite a bit

Yup, that's exactly it, I took that pic from 34°38'12.5"N 135°29'59.7"E
I was hosted at Nishinari too, I love Osaka because of the amount of showa-era looking shotengais and alleys like those, they're all over the city, and Nishinari is particularly full of them.
It's sad to see all the hobos, as a lot of them are just very old men in their 70s/80s, but other than that, very comfy neighborhood and absolutely safe (specially for western standards)
